    Meet Liz, a Dallas native and co-host of Making Black History Today. Though often a reluctant leader, her rich and unique perspective has nonetheless profoundly shaped many throughout her three decades in public service and nearly twenty years as a criminal justice professor. An HBCU graduate holding a Master's degree in Criminal Justice, Liz draws upon extensive real-world experience in investigations, policy, and community engagement, enriching the vital conversations on the podcast.

    Meet Dallas native Porter, MBA, co-host of Making Black History Today, a true trailblazer with experience in public affairs and a recognized 2024 Dallas Business Journal Leader in Diversity. Making history as the youngest Commander within a major metropolitan public service organization, Porter also serves as Vice Chair of the Park South YMCA. Her impactful journey, now as Chief Investigator of Human Trafficking, reflects a career dedicated to breaking barriers and driving meaningful change, a spirit she brings to the podcast's insightful dialogues.
